Ranking of tracked cards

The leaderboard ranks only cards with real market evidence: a confirmed recent sale or an observed sale price. The rest of the catalog is modeled (graded population × baseline pricing) and hasn't actually traded, so we hold it back until a real sale confirms the value. That keeps the ranking honest instead of padding it with cards nobody is buying.

  • On the board: a confirmed sale in the last 30 days, or an observed peak / last-sold price. A card's confidence rises as more sales land.
  • Held back: estimated-only cards with no real sales yet. They join the ranking automatically the moment they trade.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the Grail Index?

The Grail Index is GrailRank's daily ranking of graded trading cards across soccer, MTG, Pokemon, One Piece, Lorcana, and Union Arena. It ranks cards only on real market evidence, not estimates.

How does GrailRank decide which cards make the ranking?

A card makes the board once it has real market evidence: a confirmed sale in the last 30 days, or an observed peak or last-sold price. Cards with no real sales yet are held back until they trade.

What is the difference between verified, modeled, and estimated data?

Verified cards have real market evidence from confirmed sales. Modeled cards are priced from graded population times baseline pricing but have not actually traded. Estimated cards have no real sales yet, so they stay off the board until a real sale confirms their value.

What is DRIFT?

DRIFT is GrailRank's population divergence signal. It shows where graded supply is outrunning demand and where it isn't. Population is captured weekly into an append-only store that cannot be back-filled.

How often is the data updated?

The Grail Index is updated daily. DRIFT population is captured weekly.

Where does the pricing data come from?

Prices come from confirmed and observed sales on public marketplaces, including eBay and other auction and sales sources.

Score My Goal

Describe any goal in plain English. Our Goal-Difficulty Algorithm scores it across eight inputs measured at the moment of contact: shot location, defensive pressure, keeper position, body part, ball movement, touches, build-up, and obstructed vision. Not how it looks. How hard it was.
